IC 443 Jellyfish Nebula

The Jellyfish Nebula (Sh2-248) is a supernova remnant (SNR) in the constellation Gemini approximately 5,000 ly distant.

Also seen in the image is M35 (NGC 2168 bottom right), an open cluster approximately 2,800 ly from our sun containing 500 stars. To the south west of this is NGC 2158 another open cluster at a distance of 9,000 ly.

To the bottom left of the image is the Monkey Head Nebula (NGC 2174) and the associated open cluster NGC 2175. The Monkey Head Nebula is a Hii emission nebula located at a distance of 6,400 ly.

At bottom right off the image can be seen the clusters M35 and NGC 2158.
