NGC 2237 Rosette Nebula

One of my early attempts, not very well centred and needs more and longer subs. The Rosette nebula is a Hii emission region within the Monoceros area of the Milky Way. The open cluster within the nebulous region is NGC 2244. The nebula and cluster lie approximately 5000 light years from earth and has a diameter of roughly 150 light years.

At the bottom of the page is a reprocessed image. Same data but reprocessed with the benefit of two years learning and experience to bring out the colours and detail.
